… then you must start on Tampere map. This map has biggest buildable area at the moment (66%) so this map will be great for exploration of all features because you won’t be limited. To inform you there aren’t much Minerals or Oil resources there are better maps with that. But the other stats are totally awesome.
On this map you should build great realistic city based real map. Because Tampere is map inspired by Colossal Order hometown. So you can build like reality or not. That’s the charm of Cities Skylines 2 anything you can think of you can build.
The great on this map is that is European so you will see how looks this theme and is localized on Northen Hemisphere so there will be both summer and winter, so you can enjoy a nice change of weather. Because one of the greatest features is the changing of the seasons.

If you doesn’t have pre-order…
then you must start on River Delta. This map you know from trailer and have similar starts like Tampere. Main important is there also buildable area which is around 42%. It’s not that big, but it’s not bad either. There’s definitely space to build a more detailed city and try out all the elements the game has to offer.
Best on the River Delta is that you should try all connection (so all features) which are available in game. You should build small towns on islands or you should build smaller villages inland so you should build complex maps and that I love!
The seasons will be on this map more peaceful. Yes we are still on Northern Hemisphere but climate is warmer. So in the winter, you can expect the inland areas near the mountains to have snow. And by the sea, the weather will be better. Great for exploring seasons mechanics and photos!
