The question “how to make more money in Project Hospital” and “how to build a thriving hospital” is nothing difficult to answer. If we want to start from the beginning, the basic idea is that you get money for every patient you treat who has insurance, but still, this can be a quite slow process. Here are a few tips on how to make money faster.
Cure all patients who come to the hospital
Your main goal for every day is that you want to cure all the people who come to your hospital. Simply put, if you are unable to cure all of them and people leave the hospital untreated at the end of the day, you are not fulfilling your potential. Because of that you definitely want to start with optimizing your capacity.
Meet the grants and sign a new insurance
The most important things are grants/insurance. During achieving them, you will see milestones and gradually appearing rewards. If anything you definitely want to fulfil this as it increases the number of patients that come to you per day. From this, you can get a bonus in the shape of money as well…
As you can see in the picture, at one time you can have a contract with 3 companies (i.e. you can perform three tasks). This is what you want to monitor and change over time. At the same time, you need to monitor the percentage of money from your patiens.
In the beginning, you have lighter tasks that carry only 70 to 80% of the profit per patient. More complex insurance companies will make you more money, however, these tasks take longer to complete. Over time, you want to be watchful if you have a better contract option available.
Don’t let patients leave
As you play longer, you’ll have more and more people in the hospital waiting for surgery or on bedrest during treatment. You need to be prepared for your hospital to gradually fill up. You definitely want to scale ahead and have more surgeries, and more beds ready. In short, be prepared a little bit more than the minimum.
In the picture above you can see what my hospital looks like shortly after the game started. I have 3 active practices available right away, so no one leaves at the end of the day. At the same time, from the beginning, I try to +/- plan future departments so I know where I’m going to expand. In addition, I also prepare surgeries for stock, which only need to be equipped and then they can receive patients.
Considering everything right from the beginning is just really helpful in the end. On the other side, don’t worry about it that much and simplify your work by saving your functional rooms as a template. Then you will be able to build and open the next surgery in seconds.
Work on prestige
Prestige is something that can give you wrinkles, but it also earns you a lot of money. If your hospital has a lot of prestige (at the end of the day) then the next day more patients will come to your hospital who will be willing to pay more. Otherwise, fewer patients may come and pay less.
But what affects prestige in Project Hospital?

- Speed of waiting for treatment, in the waiting room
- The satisfaction of staff and how they affect others
- Decorations and what patients can do while waiting
- Minimizing long transitions and building everything close together
So at the end of the day, a simple rule applies. More prestige => more money, that’s what you want to protect and grow. On the other hand, you want to save money for doctors and additional things. It is something you have to balance between.
