The next strategy game to be released in 2023 (according to the Steam store page) is called Laysara: Summit Kingdom. You’ve probably heard of this game unless you live “under stone”. Careful, don’t relax just yet, as rocks and avalanches can destroy your city in this game.
Release date
Although no release date has been set, you can try the game out and download a playable demo (Windows), which is now available on Steam, to get a taste of how much fun a building game spiced with building will be.
Unfortunately, no release date has been announced.
Laysara: Summit Kingdom will be available in the end of 2023.
As I write this article, Laysara is #90 on my wishlist and has around 20k followers on Steam. It’s not going to be a small game and we will probably hear more about it in the future. Let’s take a closer look at the game, gameplay features and information we know now.
Trailer and main features
You’ll see all the main features in the trailer, so let’s see if you notice all of them…
… as I mentioned, this game came with a great “twist”. In city building strategy games, the verticality is not so usual. This is the main reason I will be trying this game. Also in the trailer you should see that your “city”, if I should call it like that, will grow in different “angles” of the mountains. This will probably bring challenges (winter in one place and autumn in others). So there will be some elements of survival.
You should see many types of buildings with a wide variety ways of use. I like that fields that are in one of the first screens are procedurally merged into one larger field. You should also see a likely “Chinese” theme, which is also not common in strategy games. The verticality you should see in the image below looks great. I think building bridges, footbridges and elevators will be an interesting thing.

There probably won’t be an army because you live in the mountains. Who are you going to fight the armies with? Also as I mentioned above, there will be avalanches that you have to protect your colony from. The late game looks like it will be about building a temple on top of the mountains.

So for me this is a must try if you are an advanced strategy game player. If you are a hobby player, then this game will be good for you too. Nevertheless, we will have to wait for a definitive opinion.
Price of Laysara: Summit Kingdom
The price of Laysara: Summit Kingdom is unknown yet.
I expect the game to cost around 20 – 30 EUR/USD.
I think a good price for Laysara: Summit Kingdom is around 25 EUR/USD I think. I don’t know how sophisticated this game will be. I don’t think the game features will be for the long term player (I don’t see that much depth in the game mechanics yet, but I could be wrong) So for me a good price like for Farthest Frontier would be around 25 EUR/USD.
System Requirements of Laysara: Summit Kingdom
For now, the developers have only released the minimum requirements, which are not bad. It should be playable on all PCs. However, this may change in the future. So let’s wait with the PC upgrade.

No word yet on whether the game will be available for MacOS / Linux or GeForce Now. However, I think that this game will be available on GeForce Now, as they have great support so far.
