You are on a conquering mission, you have a strong army and you are conquering the surrounding states, but what to do when you are conquering states? The states have high turmoil and high devastation and you have to act. In today’s guide I will show you what to do when you are conquering a new state.
First you need to check are the infrastructure levels. If you have low infrastructure levels and you are building more buildings than you can manage, you can start a death spiral. Moreover, it will gradually get more expensive to build in that location until you build a railway/port that increases the infrastructure.
Also, 100% market access increases the availability of goods and lowers prices. This will raise the standard of living in the destination country more quickly rather than bringing a new supply problem. And as we know, higher standard of living has a big impact on how many radicals rise in the target country.
Decrees
Second, you have to add decrees to the new states. Violent Suppression that adds -50% of Penalties from Turmoil has worked well for me. The bad thing is that you increase the mortality which is caused by Turmoil. However, still, less penalties are better for you because you get more resources/money from the target country.
If you are conquering a country with which you have no cultural compatibility, you must add Promote National Values. This will increase Assimilation and Conversion, which can alleviate discrimination issues.
Incorporation
The second thing you have to do is to “incorporate” the states. This will cost you a lot of bureaucracy, but in the end you won’t have problems with riots and devastation and they will become full members of your country. Below you can see how incorporation works and what it will increase.
If you have a non-aligned state, then you have -33% of the expected standard of living and you will also have -50% of the political strength, -25% of the infrastructure and -50% of the conscription battalions. You will also get less resources from these states.
